Heart to Heart Donation President Sarah Yao Becomes the Highest Bidder for a Painted Fiat 500 in a Charity Auction

Sarah Yao, president of Clear Sea Group contributed to the earthquake rebuilding efforts by buying a Fiat 500 painted by artist Roger Pfund.

On June 7th, 2008, the Embassy of Italy in China and the Asia Pacific Les Amis d’Escoffier Society jointly held the 7th Annual Convention of Asia Pacific Les Amis d’Escoffier Society & the Charity Banquet in Support of Sichuan Quake Area, with the theme of “Rome Legend—Rebuild Your Homes”. As a key part of the Sino-Italy Culture Exchange Initiative—2008 Summer Italy, the Banquet showcased Italian sensational recipes and classic artworks, and specially organized a charity auction for the Sichuan disaster area. In the auction, Sarah Yao bid RMB 400,000 for the most compelling auction item—a Fiat 500 worth RMB 150,000 provided by Fiat Group Automobiles.

The innovative Fiat 500, one of the four top superminis in the Europe, always leads the fashion in the automobile industry.
More importantly, the world-renowned designer and artist Roger Pfund was invited to paint the Fiat 500. Being known for his design works such as Swiss Franc and Euro, Roger Pfund brought the distinctive color and picture and unique Chinese modern aesthetics to highlight the amazing charm of Fiat 500.
Through the combination of east-west culture spirit and cross-cultural friendship, the painted Fiat 500 was created and played its role in China.
After the Sichuan earthquake happened, the hearts and thoughts of Clear Sea Group went to everyone affected by the tragedy. The employees actively contributed to the disaster relief in a time of great need. For example, the staff actively donated the money on the next day of the earthquake. Sarah Yao participated in the auction to raise the funds for more victims.
As a generous donor, Sarah Yao pointed out: “The deadly Sichuan earthquake aroused the humanitarian sympathies around the world. In China, all people are willing to share suffering with the victims, showing great love in the country. During the long-term disaster relief and reconstruction, we’ll continuously provide all assistance within reach to help our people rebuild their homes”.
The song said “Hope you convey your love! Brighter future will be created for all”. Sarah Yao and her colleagues realized the true meaning of the warm song: let’ create a world of love and hope!
